VSS101 Fall Protection - Authorized User

Fall Protection Authorized User provides a comprehensive, four-hour introduction to fall protection & PPE. Designed for beginners, it covers the fundamental selection, use, inspection of harnesses, connectors, anchorage points and other critical PPE. This course is designed for all industries that are required to use fall protection for work at heights.

This course combines classroom instruction with hands-on interaction, using our extensive inventory of harnesses, lanyards, connectors, and rigging apparatus. Students will explore a wide range of equipment styles to understand the specific applications and limitations of various fall protection equipment and PPE.

Fall Protection Authorized User (4-Hour Course)
This program is designed to fulfill the regulatory requirement that employers shall provide training to each employee required to use PPE. You’ll learn why equipment choice matters and how to select the right tool for the task.

 

  • Selection, inspection, and care of harnesses, lanyards, ropes, and ascension/descension devices.
  • Includes training for head, eye, hand, and extremity protection, as well as specialized protective clothing.
  • Students are introduced to various harness and connector types to understand the specific applications and limitations of their gear.
  • Specifically developed to ensure employer adherence to workplace safety regulations.

  • Successful completion enables the employer to confidently authorize employeesfor duties requiring fall protection and PPE.
  • Verifies that personnel have received the necessary training to safely and effectively utilize all assigned equipment while working at heights.

We handle the paperwork for you. After the training, the employer will receive a certification of training record with student performance and evaluation data. This ensures your training records are always current, organized, and in compliance.

To maximize the value of this course, students are expected to remain attentive and engaged throughout the session. This is an intensive, fast-paced program designed to cover critical safety material with efficiency. Frequent quizzes will be administered to ensure understanding of the core curriculum. To support success, students will receive numerous resources to be used both in class and as a reliable reference for future field operations. To earn the Fall Protection Authorized User certificate, each participant must successfully demonstrate the ability to name, select, inspect, and properly don/duff and use all primary fall protection equipment and  PPE.
